Scope and Contents

This collection contains photographs of club members, events, activities, and flower shows. Images include annual Easter egg hunts at McClatchey Park, Ansley Park neighborhood entrances such as The Prado, and houses. Of special interest are photographs of Rhodes Hall in Atlanta, decorated by club members for Christmas.

Scope and Content

This collection contains images of homes built in the early 20th century in the Atkins Park neighborhood, Atlanta, Georgia. A variety of architectural styles are represented including Georgian Revival, American Craftsman, and English Tudor. The photographs also provide details of landscape styles as well as popular shrubs and ornamental plants used in front yard gardens. Of special note are two images of the neighborhood stone entrance gateways.

Scope and Content The collection contains images that detail the civic and social history of the Cherokee Garden Club. Included in the collection are photographs of the club's civic projects, flower show arrangements, and needlework. Also a part of the collection are images of club members attending the Garden Club of America Zone VIII meetings and working at fundraising events such as Potlatch and Gardener's Delight. The majority of this collection contains correspondence, estimates, ledgers, proposals, and planting studies that provide a history of Julia O. Martin's career as principal of Julia O. Martin Landscape Design. Martin's resume and clippings offer details of her personal and professional life. Of special note are Martin's garden design sketches included in various planting studies.

Scope and Content This collection contains slides, photographs, and films that document the tulip and garden club related activities of Marie Nicholson and the Tulip Study Club. Color slides provide details of Marie Nicholson's garden and tulip varieties as well as tulip arrangements. Also included in the collection are two architectural drawings by William C. This collection contains materials that provide a history of the social and civic activities of the club. Included are correspondence, directories, and newsletters. Of special interest are letters describing the interest and support of the first state botanical garden for Georgia in 1938.

This collection contains landscape drawings of both William L. Monroe, Sr. and William L. Monroe, Jr., as part of the Monroe's Landscape and Nursery Company, and represent a wide variety of clients including residential, commercial, churches, and parks. Of special note is a landscape plan of Chastain Woods for Chastain Memorial Park.

Scope and Content This collection contains images of club members participating in civic and social activities. Photographs of club projects such as the Atlanta History Center Swan Woods work days and decorating the Shepherd Center are included. Also a part of the collection are images of club meetings, luncheons, and garden and home tours. Scope and Contents

This collection contains landscape drawings, plant lists, concept and site plans, and surveys that provide details of work done by Richard Anderson Landscape Architect Inc., as well as earlier work with Daugherty/Anderson and Associates. The work of a few other architects is included such as Edward L. Daugherty and E. S. Draper. The majority of projects are of residential landscapes.

This collection contains images of identified club members attending meetings, programs, and field trips. A large number of photographs were taken at members' homes and include table settings and floral arrangements. Also a part of the collection are images of Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain; Atlanta Botanical Garden; and Oakland Cemetery where members visited on field trips.
